Emmverse Foundation was founded in honour of Emmerentia Akwanwi, a beloved mother, Sister, Friend, lecturer, and nurturer whose sudden passing in 2016 sparked a vision of healing through legacy. Her sudden passing left a void, but also a powerful reminder of resilience, love, and purpose.
Emmverse Foundation is a heartfelt initiative created to keep her memory alive through service, education, and empowerment.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit remains very much alive in our hearts, in our values, and in the countless lives she touched. Her guiding light and compassion lives on in every woman we support
Our Name
Emmverse is a name born from love, grief, and legacy. It combines “Emm” from Emmerentia, our founder’s late mother and “verse” from the word Universe symbolising her boundless heart and the way her wisdom touched everyone around her, like a Verse in the story of many Lives.
Emmverse is a symbol of continuity, expression, and healing after loss.
This is more than a foundation. It’s a sacred space where dignity is rebuilt, and lives are empowered through the love that remains.
Why Women & Girls
Across communities, too many women and girls are forced to face grief, abuse, or abandonment without the tools or support they need. Injustice, silence, and stigma often deepen the wounds. Emmverse Foundation is here to change that story.
